About The Role
Act as operator and custodian of the measuring instruments and equipment assigned to the survey crew, including data‑storing tachymeters, positioning receivers and survey devices; assist the Land Survey Technologist with calculations, recording tasks, and perform other usual survey crew duties.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operate all types of current surveying instruments and equipment, including transits, direction theodolites, levels, tapes, electromagnetic distances and data‑storing tachometric theodolites, under the direction of the Land Survey Technologist.
- Assist in gathering evidence on boundaries, determining their location and marking them by monumentation or location stakes.
- Conduct the placement of targets, reflectors, and instruments for horizontal control surveys and assist the Land Survey Technologist in the selection of routes, sight distances and benchmark locations in vertical control surveys.
