**Description:**

The Lead Medical Assistant provides clinical support to the Director, Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and other clinical staff members within the Radiation Oncology Department. They serve as the liaison between the medical assistant staff and the nursing manager. They assist in the development of training material, ordering/stocking of supplies, championing process improvements, monitoring workflow/unit work queues, and onboarding clerical employees.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Provides quality patient care by considering the age specific, development and cultural needs through competent clinical practice. Demonstrates unit/area competencies.

Demonstrates self-directed initiative and seeks opportunities to enhance operating performance.

Maintains knowledge and ability to perform all duties of the medical assistant job role.
