Learning Support Assistant

Location: Dearne Vallet Campus, Rotherham

Salary: £24,930 FTE (Pro‑rata £11,350.66) per annum

Vacancy Type: Permanent – Position start date Monday 24th August 2026

Hours: Part time (20 hours per week for 37 weeks worked – term time plus 1 training week)

Responsibilities

• Provide in‑ and out‑of‑class support to assist students with learning difficulties/disabilities to help them achieve their best possible outcomes.
• Support personal care and literacy and numeracy where required.
• Participate in the planning, preparation, and reviewing of learning in conjunction with relevant curriculum staff, providing feedback and carrying out reviews as appropriate to ensure students make expected progress.
• Manage challenging behaviour when it arises and help students develop their own coping strategies.
