**Description:**
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in wound care is responsible for providing direct patient care focused on the assessment, treatment, and management of acute and chronic wounds. This role supports the interdisciplinary team by performing wound assessments, implementing prescribed treatment plans, and monitoring healing progress to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities include performing wound dressing changes, assisting with debridement procedures under supervision, documenting wound status and interventions accurately, and identifying signs of infection or complications. The LPN ensures adherence to infection control protocols, maintains wound care supplies, and educates patients and caregivers on proper wound care techniques and prevention strategies.
