GENERAL FUNCTIONS

Lifeguarding Open Swim & Swim Practices

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

The following are typical responsibilities associated with this position. The specific responsibilities may vary and will be assigned accordingly by the supervisor.


+ Check area for hazardous conditions when arriving at lifeguard station.

+ Be professional, alert, courteous and diplomatic.

+ Know and practice the proper emergency procedures.

+ Stay alert, scan the pool at all times and avoid socializing while on duty.

+ Enforce all facility rules; report any persistent problem to the Aquatic Director.

+ Keep the swimming area clean and ready for inspection at all times.

+ Know how to use all rescue, and first aid equipment, and keep it ready and in good repair.
