Position Overview
The Long-Term Care (LTC) Ombudsman will collaborate with the State LTC Ombudsman department, ACLS Bureau and MDHHS on long-term care support initiatives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the provision of assistance and advocacy services to residents of long-term care facilities to resolve complaints through problem identification and definition, education regarding rights, provision of information on appropriate rules, and referrals to appropriate community resources. In addition, the LTC Ombudsman helps prospective long-term care facility residents and their families with placement, and long-term care options.
Duties Include:
+ Consultation/Family Support- Provision of assistance to older adults and their families in understanding, identifying, locating, evaluating, and/or obtaining long-term care services.
