JOB SUMMARY:

•   The General Laborer / Yard Helper performs a wide range of manual and support tasks throughout the shipyard, with a primary focus on yard operations—keeping the vessel, work areas, and yard clean, organized, and safe.


• The position moves, stages, and rigs material and equipment to support production, and assists shipfitters, welders, and other trades by gathering tools, pulling leads and equipment, and lending a hand with measuring, lifting, and positioning components.
• When assigned, the helper may place tacks on structural components that have been fit by the shipfitter and are awaiting welding.
• This is an entry-level, hands-on role that keeps the yard running and supports the trades wherever they are needed.
