Ensure compliance with all terminal, charterer, customer, and regulatory safety and operational requirements, including audits, inspections, ISM/ISPS/MLC and OCIMF SIRE vetting.
Oversee safe and efficient marine operations in accordance with the Safety Management System, maintaining vessel readiness, equipment, machinery, and onboard publications.
Manage crew competency through training and evaluation, investigate incidents and accidents, implement corrective actions, and take part in SMS reviews and emergency response.
Monitor and report vessel performance, liaise with terminals, charterers, customers and P&I insurers, and manage marine personnel, resources, and departmental budget.
