Position Summary
The Chief Engineer maintains the uninterrupted operation of shipboard machinery and systems. The Chief Engineer designs and manages the implementation of preventative maintenance projects.
Main Responsibilities
Managing the activity of shipboard engineering personnel.Ordering items through SINEX and doing so cost effectively.Ensuring that all engineering personnel always adhere to safety policies.Leading preventative maintenance initiatives in a cost-effective, efficient and timely manner.Conducting performance reviews of shipboard engineering personnel and identify areas of improvement.Ensure the safe and proper operation of propulsion and auxiliary machinery.Troubleshooting when machines are not working correctly.Monitor of bunker and lubricants.Responding to oil pollution according to the correct procedure.
