The Medical Assistant is the first contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant performs advanced administrative, operational, customer support responsibilities that require independent initiative and judgment.
The Medical Assistant performs clinical responsibilities such as discussing symptoms and obtaining vital signs. Additionally, they administer medications and vaccines, perform phlebotomy, and collect specimens. They also perform diagnostic screening tests, sterilize and clean equipment, and maintain examination rooms. Furthermore, they document information into the electronic medical records system. Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. Deliver direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows.
