Job Description Summary

:Responsible for performing and reporting assigned laboratory tests to provide diagnostic data for the treatment and/or diagnosis of disease.Under the direct supervision of a section supervisor responsible for the assigned shift as scheduled. Incumbents are subject to overtime and call back by the department as designated by the hospital.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Performs routine and special laboratory tests in designated areas of the laboratory.

Evaluates and reports test results as instructed by test procedure or section procedure.

Performs reagent and instrument quality control and records results, and reports problems to supervisory personnel as instructed in procedures and assists in resolving them.

Performs and maintains records of preventive maintenance on assigned instruments.

Inventories, receives, and stores supplies for assigned areas.
