Job Description
Give the necessary supervision, care, and advice to women during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period
Conduct deliveries independently at the facility and community level
Manage complications in pregnancy and childbirth, in accordance with the principles of basic emergency obstetric care
Provide primary care to women of reproductive age
Provide essential newborn care, well-baby clinic and well-baby visits at home, neonatal resuscitation where needed, and other interventions that she is trained on including circumcision, IMCI, and vaccinations
Counsel and educate women, the family, and the community, in relevant areas of health including preparation for parenthood and childbirth
