Job Summary

Provide medical, surgical and preventive care to animal patients in clinical and field settings. Diagnose conditions, develop treatment plans, and communicate care recommendations to owners and support staff.

Main Duties

• Examine animals to assess health status, identify diseases or injuries, and order diagnostic tests as required.
• Diagnose conditions and develop individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications and therapies.
• Perform surgical procedures and manage anesthesia, perioperative care, and postoperative monitoring.
• Provide preventive care services such as vaccinations, parasite control, nutritional counselling, and wellness exams.
• Educate and counsel animal owners on treatment plans, preventive health measures, behaviour, and husbandry.
