Job Description

Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences seeks a Registered Nurse to support Year 3 medical students during the Clinical Methods Course. The role is based at Waitakere and North Shore campuses and involves identifying and consenting suitable inpatients for bedside teaching with Clinical Methods Tutors and students.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with ward staff to identify suitable inpatient volunteers.
• Approach and assess patients for willingness and clinical appropriateness to participate.
• Obtain and document verbal consent in patient notes.
• When appropriate, examine patients to confirm relevant clinical signs.
• Prepare and share a patient list (including reserves) with Clinical Methods Tutors by 12:30pm each teaching day.
