Position Summary/ Department Summary: Nurse Practitioner, Lung Transplant Program
Key Responsibilities: - Sole NP in the lung program, providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient health care services to lung transplant patients throughout the entire spectrum of care from pre-transplant education, evaluation and management to transplant and follow up care.
- Train and work alongside the advanced cardiac therapies APRNs for planned time off cross coverage in heart transplant program.
- Closely monitoring immunosuppressive therapy and collaboratively instituting an appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic plan when there are signs of rejection and infection.
- Serving in an integral role within the larger multidisciplinary team for the long-term care of transplant patients by and being an educational resource to both staff and patients/families.
