About the unit

4 West is a medical surgical unit located within Butterworth Hospital. This unit is the perfect place to gain experience and grow your career! The patient population on 4 West provides its employees the opportunity to learn about a variety of different conditions consisting of primarily hospitalist medicine patients with a wide variety of diagnosis, some of which include: pneumonia, sepsis, cellulitis, kidney failure, and hyperglycemia. In Butterworth hospital it is common to see high acuity patients which provides the opportunity to develop acute care skills such as patient assessments, IV/urinary catheter/NG tube placement, rapid decline in patient condition, EndoTool, etc. 4 West is a well-established team that works collaboratively and functions exceptionally well.
