SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, is responsible for making ready, operating, and maintaining offset printing, dry printing, plate-making and photography equipment for a variety of reproduction activities. Incumbent performs other related duties and required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Offset Machine Operator Trainee: This is the entrance level for the Offset Machine Operator series. Employees in this class normally work under close supervision, performing a number of repetitive and closely related duties according to established procedures. While a variety of tasks may be assigned, each step usually fits a pattern that has been observed and reviewed both during its performance and upon completion, and changes in procedures or exceptions to rules are explained in detail as they arise.
