Operations Supervisor / Planner

We are delighted to be working with a well-established specialist transport and logistics company is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor / Planner to join its team at its Barnsley depot. The business operates a nationwide fleet and specialises in the delivery of high-value and specialist equipment.

The role will be offered on a temporary to permanent basis.

The Role

You will act as a key point of contact within the operations office, responsible for vehicle route planning, collections, trunking operations, and the day-to-day management of operational issues.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning delivery and collection routes and allocating driving teams to maximise efficiency, service levels, and revenue.
Managing loads through the Transport Management System (TMS).
Liaising with customer service teams regarding delivery bookings, customer enquiries, delays, and operational issues.
