POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Operations Supervisor, and the direction of the Lead Operator, operates, regulates, monitors, and adjusts various pumps, machines and equipment controls to assure efficient operation of the water treatment plants reservoirs and pumping stations.

MAJOR TASKS

• Performs routine inspections and basic alarm checks of plants and equipment, buildings and site as outlined by the Plant Inspection Schedule and reports deficiencies
• Reads, monitors, and records charts and meter readings, prepares process calculations, and assists with input of process statistics in plant computer.
• Operates pumps, compressors, etc., adjusts chlorinator, chemical feed pumps, valves and other operational equipment, to ensure that correct dosages and proper plant operations are maintained.
