Job Description

Early Intervention (EI) is a comprehensive interagency program that supports infants and children with developmental delays in their efforts to realize their full potential. It empowers families to meet their own needs, and entitles eligible children, regardless of race, ethnicity or income, to services through the program. The EIP is legally mandated under Title II-A, 2552 of Article 25 of the NYS PHL to ensure that eligible children receive therapeutic services as soon as possible, and it has been recognized as an essential service duringCOVID-19 by NYS. Outreach is a critical component of New York State(NYS) Early Intervention (EI) regulations primarily implemented through a mandated “Child Find” system. Municipalities are responsible for conducting awareness and outreach activities to identify, locate, and refer children at risk of developmental delays or a disability with a high probability of a delay, to ensure families have access to services.
