Duties
As an Overseas Adjudication Officer, you will be responsible for adjudicating applications for various immigration benefits, interacting with customers and external stakeholders, and representing the agency in U.S. Embassies and Consulates in international locations. You will:
Interpret, apply and enforce an intricate field of Immigration and Nationality laws which includes planning and conducting independent research concerning the eligibility entitlements of persons seeking immigration benefits under the Immigration and Nationality Act.
Provide information in response to public and Congressional inquiries.
Assist the Field Office Director in representing USCIS, as needed, in meetings with foreign governments, the Department of State, other Department of Homeland Security components (particularly Immigration and Custom Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection), congressional representatives, and/or community-based and international organizations.
