Provides technical expertise, maintains master data, and addresses complaints regarding packaging. Interprets and provides guidance on the development of appropriate packaging to provide items with the proper level of protection for an intended destination. Provides expertise on preservation, packaging, marking, palletization, packaging testing and quantity unit pack/unit of issue requirements and the application of proper levels of protection for materials purchased on DLA contracts. Responsible for the maintenance of the packaging materiel master data elements, the packaging supplemental data instructions, standard text objects related to packaging, and any Special Packaging Instructions (SPIs).
