The Oyster Farm General Manager (OFGM) is responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of all aspects of the Paqtnkek Oyster Farm. This role ensures the project’s overall success by managing and coordinating administrative tasks, supporting staff, and achieving long-term goals in conjunction with the Oyster Farm.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic and Operational Management
- Develop long-term farm plans and set annual goals.
- Ensure the oyster farm is operating efficiently.
- Support the Oyster Farm Field Manager in operation and maintenance responsibilities to the appropriate staff.
- Ensure animal health is being monitored and address any concerns with animal health (i.e. identifying presence of parasites such as MSX) in coordination with provincial authorities.
- Coordinate product sales and equipment purchases.
