Job Description

The School of Performing Arts seeks a .75 FTE Instructor of Double Reeds (oboe and bassoon) for an academic year (9-month) appointment. The initial contract will be for one-year beginning August 10, 2026 with the opportunity for renewal as supported by performance, need, and funding.

The primary responsibilities include teaching applied oboe and bassoon lessons, developing and sustaining a vibrant double reed studio, and contributing to ensemble coaching and performance-area activities (studio classes, juries, auditions, and student recitals). Depending on studio enrollments and programmatic needs, the faculty member may teach courses in music general education or in an area aligned with the candidate’s expertise.
