Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Progressive Ventilator Support Unit (PVSU). This is a Full Time, Night Shift (12-hour shift) position.
Hours: 7:00pm to 7:00am - Three 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week), with rotating weekends.
Department Overview: The Progressive Ventilator Support Unit (PVSU) is an eight-bed step-down unit, specializing in treatment of patients on mechanical ventilators. Most patients admitted to PVSU come from an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). PVSU focuses on maximizing the rehabilitation while continuing to treat the cause of the illness. This goal is accomplished through intensive physical therapy, respiratory care and mental stimulation.
