Scope of the Position

Reporting to the Payroll and HRIS Director of Canada, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for complete validation of payroll for the Sonepar Canada companies, including payrolls for both salaried and unionized employees, and the administration of the year‑end process.

Major Responsibilities

• Carry out complete verification of payroll in its overall process (verification of data each pay period).
• Validate payroll in accordance with applicable collective agreements, employment standards, company policies, and internal controls.
• Calculate, validate, and confirm monthly/quarterly bonus amounts to be paid.
• Manage and resolve payroll-related issues.
• Administer the end‑of‑fiscal‑year process (taxable benefits, etc.).
• Prepare end‑of‑year statements (R1/T4/T2200) and all other statements related to the end of the fiscal year.
