**Pharmacist - Specialty – St. Peter's Hospital**

**Position Summary** :

The pharmacist-specialty is a hybrid clinical pharmacist and sterile compounding lead position. The pharmacist – specialty must:

+ Be proficient in accurately verifying medication orders and dispensing medications
+ Assures safe, effective, and economical use of medications
+ Reviews and evaluates medication orders
+ Monitors patient medication therapy
+ Effectively and appropriately communicates with providers
+ Safe storage, preparation, dispensing of medications
+ Provides medication counseling for patients and drug information for providers
+ Participates in medication event reporting
+ Offers leadership to pharmacy technicians and precepts students and/or residents (at least 1 annually) and new hires
