The Phlebotomist II plays a key role in safely and accurately collecting, processing, and handling patient specimens while supporting smooth laboratory workflow. This position involves performing venipunctures and other specimen collections, troubleshooting issues, assisting with training, and making recommendations to improve processes in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities

+ Perform blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.

+ Collect and store blood, urine, fecal, and other specimens according to established procedures and laboratory protocols.

+ Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously to patients, addressing questions and concerns in a professional manner.

+ Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes to ensure accurate patient and test identification.
