Position Overview

            Phlebotomist/Lab Coordinator 
What you will do: 
Perform all phlebotomy services for the Adult Outpatient Clinic  
Draw blood using sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment  
Collect urine samples for drug screens, and/or urinalysis  
Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples  
Label samples correctly and send for testing  
Operate centrifuge, timers, and other laboratory equipment in completing assigned duties  
Keep accurate records on all specimens  
Accurately and timely document details of the service the EMR  
Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working  
Provide excellent customer service  
Reassure clients and help calm their nerves  
Answer patient questions and provide useful information  
Contact clients the day before lab appointment to review lab preparation instructions
