Within the context of a client and family centred model of care, and in accordance with the Mission, Vision, Values and strategic directions of Providence Health Care, the person promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff. Reporting to the Assistant Chief Engineer, the position performs skilled plumbing work at the journeyman level such as installing and repairing pipe and plumbing systems and carrying out the plumbing preventative maintenance program for St. Paul's Hospital by methods such as inspecting piping systems and other plumbing fixtures. Performs preventative maintenance on steam and heating systems by methods such as repairing, replacing or installing equipment and/or parts, extends steam piping systems, joins pipes by threading, soldering and cementing and tests equipment for leaks and pressure levels as required.
