Position Overview

Summary You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER (ACCIDENT INVESTIGATOR) in the Provost Marshall Office Marine Corps Police Department of MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII. Responsibilities You will respond to all traffic accidents; thoroughly investigate, supervise the accident scene and/or direct all events at the scene of an accident. You will review statements taken, interview witnesses, interrogate suspects and reconstruct the scene of an accident. You will coordinate base traffic surveys of suspect or traffic problem areas and monitor them to maintain statistics on accidents for traffic enforcement/control programs. You will conduct radar system detection to enforce speed limits and sobriety checkpoints to identify and deter drinking and driving violations. You will ensure that photos and proper measurements are taken at accident scenes to reconstruct the events of the accident.
