**Polysomnography T** **rainee**

**Primary Function/General Purpose of Position**

​​Develops competency in and performs the basics of polysomnographic testing and associated patient care & treatment interventions under direct supervision of a registered polysomnographic technologist (RPSGT).​ 

**Essential Job Functions**

+ Works cooperatively under the supervision and direction of a RPSGT, quality control technologists, and the sleep center leadership to master the skills necessary to perform quality sleep studies and achieve the RPSGT credential.

+ Assists with appropriate interventions including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as continuous and bi-level airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc.

+ Assists with all sleep center protocols and workflows as proficiency is obtained.
