Overview

Position available for up to three years, potentially extendable by one year. The appointment will involve teaching, supervision, and research assistance, and a strong focus on developing ethical frameworks for embodied AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and analyze key ethical issues raised by embodied AI across varied application domains, including safety, reliability, accountability, and privacy.
• Investigate social and environmental impacts, such as job displacement and sustainability of robot production.
• Develop security and regulatory insights, addressing risks such as hacking, weaponization, and liability.
• Create the NCEI Ethics Framework, including an “Ethics toolbox” with core statements and analytical tools.
