Postdoctoral Researcher in Scanning probe microscopy of low-dimensional quantum materials

The Department of Physics is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics starting 1st September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter for a duration of 2 years. The position is fixed term, for the research project “Artificial Unconventional Superconductivity at the Atomic Scale” (Academy Research Fellowship no ).

The successful candidate will be involved in fabrication of 2‑dimensional van der Waals materials using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and characterizing their electronic properties at the atomic scale using low temperature scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy (LT‑STM) as well as atomic force microscopy (AFM) in the Synthetic Quantum Materials group at University of Jyväskylä.
