Position Overview

The Ruralia Institute at the University of Helsinki invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in the Sustainability and Community Enterprises group, led by Academy Research Fellow Taneli Vaskelainen. The role will run from October 2026 to December 2029.

Responsibilities

• Conduct qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) and historical analysis
• Perform literature reviews and synthesize findings
• Co‑edit a special issue of a journal on cooperatives
• Promote exemplary cooperatives within the academic and public sector
• Engage in dissemination activities and stakeholder outreach

Qualifications

• PhD in business administration, management, sociology, innovation studies, or a closely related field
• Proven expertise in qualitative research methods, including QCA
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
