Duties
Help
Responsible for functioning within the scope of practice dictated by the authority of the Nurse Practice Act and Bureau of Prisons. Maintaining a current LPN license is a requirement of this position.
Provides a full range of patient care to chronically ill dialysis inmates, under the supervision of the Supervisory Clinical Nurse, with guidance from the Charge Nurse.
Prepares patients for specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to standard protocols. Maintains records of medications given. Reports and records adverse reactions through approved reporting mechanisms.
Transcribes and carries out the wide variety of physician's orders according to established nursing policies pertaining to orders.
