Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Principal Fire Life Safety Engineer include the following:
- Manage building projects (with respect to fire life and safety) from concept design through to completion and handover.
- The application of codes and standards to FLS and loss prevention.
- Carry our risk assessments with respect to fire safety fire egress points and travel distances and work collaboratively to mitigate such risks.
- Review the Architectural drawings in terms of FLS requirements.
- Collaborate with architects consultants and project teams.Β
- Knowledge of CFD smoke modelling particularly in underground buildings.
- Develop performancebased fire engineering strategies.
