Wilp Si Wilaxsinsxwhl Simgigyet (Chiefs House of Learning), Gitwangak.

The Principal/Teacher is responsible for the day-to-day management, administration, leadership, and supervision of Wilp Si Wilaxsinxswhl Simgigyet. The Principal/Teacher ensures the effective integration of Gitxsan culture, history and language into the education curriculum.

Employment Qualifications

• Master of Education (Administrative Leadership)
• Bachelor of Education Degree
• Teaching Experience – minimum of 5 years, preferably in a First Nations School
• In-depth knowledge of the BC Education curriculum
• Administrative Experience – minimum of 2 years
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Experience with budgets
• Conflict Resolution and Management
• Explicit Criminal Record Check working with vulnerable populations
