Duties Description Design Bureau Rochester Satellite Squad: Designs moderate and complex projects statewide. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
*Gain and utilize expertise and experience in design of pavements, slopes, drainage systems, water supply, traffic analysis, signals, lighting, etc.
*Develop and complete sealed engineering studies and designs for highway, rail, aviation, landscape, and nonmotorized transportation projects
*Responsible for direct supervision, training and management of engineers, technicians, landscape architects and analysts
*Update portions of the Highway Design Manual and provide related training.


Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
