The role involves developing and creating Psychiatry services in the Lakes Omineca region, providing services to neighboring communities of Burns Lake, Fort St. James, and Fraser Lake and surrounding communities.

As part of a community mental health team, the psychiatrist, in close consultation with family physicians, will:

• Provide patient assessments and treatment planning.
• Provide ongoing patient-centered consultation and education to physicians and interdisciplinary mental health teams to advance effective treatment.
• Participate in the provision of area-based continuum of psychiatric services, including assessment of patients in the regional hospital observation unit.
