A consultant radiologist is a senior medical doctor specializing in diagnostic and therapeutic imaging. They evaluate complex medical images (e.g., X-rays, CTs, MRIs) to identify abnormalities, guide treatment plans, mentor junior staff, and perform minimally invasive image-guided procedures.
DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible to seek the advice and guidance of Head Department radiologist whenever the condition of patient merits further expertise.
Responsible to reports on X-ray procedures and scans in a systematic informative and conclusive manner.
Evaluating patients’ medical histories to ensure the various medical imaging procedures will not harm them.
Suggesting alternative medical imaging techniques, when necessary.
Informing patients about the medical imaging process.
Using devices such as computer tomography (CT) scanners and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines.
