The R&D Chemist is essentially responsible for the product innovation and technology of the managed product portfolio. This would entail a wide range of challenges, involving various aspects of the design and development of the product portfolio. The day-to‑day work are summarised as follows:
Managing assigned product portfolio is the main responsibility of the R&D Chemist. This includes designing experiments to develop new products and optimising formulations, managing issues related to the product formulations, follow through with monitoring plans, and preparation of data sheets and reports.
Conduct in-depth studies of test standards and specifications, regulations and compliances, and any other relevant technical documents.
Leading investigations of product or process failures; identifying root cause in addition to implementing corrective and preventive measures.
