Position Overview:
The Referral Coordinator plays a key role in supporting patient access and care coordination by managing referrals, authorizations, and communication between patients, providers, and insurance plans. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Key Responsibilities:

+ Coordinate and process patient referrals, including scheduling referral appointments and tracking referral status

+ Submit referral forms and documentation to appropriate departments, including Health Information Management

+ Enter and maintain authorizations and referral data accurately within internal systems

+ Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits, including HMO plans

+ Manage a daily workload of approximately 40–50 referrals, primarily web-based, with occasional outbound calls to insurance providers
