Overview

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the comprehensive nursing care of high risk neonates and their families. Functions according to the practice standards and guidelines from the College of Nurses of Ontario and the division of nursing at MGH.

Education

• Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Registration issued by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current B.C.L.S. required.
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) Course and renewal as per standard of NRP required.
• 21 Hour Breastfeeding Course Certificate required.
• Perinatal Intensive Care Nursing Program Certificate an asset.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-2 years of recent relevant neonatal experience in a Level II (C) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting within the last 3 years; OR 1 year of recent experience in level III NICU setting within the last 3 years required.
