The Inpatient Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals recovering from illness, injury, surgery, stroke, neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, and other disabling diagnoses. As a key member of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, the RN promotes functional recovery, maximizes patient independence, prevents complications, and supports patients and families throughout the rehabilitation journey. Responsibilities include assessing and monitoring patient conditions, administering treatments and medications, reinforcing therapy goals, providing education, coordinating care, and preparing patients for a safe transition to home or community settings. Rehabilitation nurses play a unique role in helping patients regain strength, confidence, and quality of life while supporting achievement of individualized rehabilitation goals.
