Detailed Overview

Under the general supervision and direction of a senior position such as a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse or Recreation Therapist, assists designated residents with assigned rehabilitative activities. Responsibilities Assists assigned residents with established rehabilitative activities such as mobility and strengthening exercises, walking programs and activities of daily living; demonstrates the use of prescribed treatment/adaptive devices such as braces, wheelchairs, seating devices and walkers, modified eating utensils and personal care items to residents, as directed. Participates in the retraining for optimal function in resident's personal/self care related to activities of daily living by assisting with self care, meal management, eating utensils and modification of clothing, as required.
