The role of the respiratory therapist in the Ambulatory Care PSU involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and coordinating care for technology‑dependent and sleep‑disorder breathing patients, and conducting pulmonary function testing. The therapist is a member of the multidisciplinary team, enhancing case management of complex respiratory patients and performing diagnostic evaluations in the pulmonary function laboratory.
