The respiratory therapist for Life Flight demonstrates advanced critical thinking in working autonomously and in collaboration with other health care providers in the delivery of care to critically ill or injured patients in diverse and non-traditional settings.

**Essential Functions**

+ Demonstrates autonomous mastery of running and troubleshooting Life Flight ventilators and Oxygen systems (Hamilton T1 ventilator, aero-orb, high flow nasal cannula, inhaled vasodilators, and specialty gases).
+ Demonstrates resourcefulness, adaptability, and expert knowledge.
+ Uses physical assessment skills to identify baseline and changes.
+ Identifies potential problems for individual patients, uses continuous assessment skills to identify the deteriorating patient.
