Unit PACU and ACU, float between the two units
# Beds- 13
Phase 1 and Phase 2? -13 phase 1, 17 phase 2, travelers cover both
Nurse: Patient Ratios- phase 1 - 1:2; phase 2 = 1:4
Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?)- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
Common Cases- lap chole, bariatric, debridements, ortho, neuro
Experience or 'Must have' skills-must have PACU or ICU experience
EMR -Cerner
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?-Yes, up to 1 patient at a time
Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios- 1 transporter
RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc)- RT handles vents, etc
ICU patients - do they recover in PACU?-we do work with ICU patients on occasion
RNs read strips?-Yes
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?)-We schedule as needed, and schedule 6 weeks out
Weeknight/Call Requirements 4 weeknights / month
Weekend/Call Requirements 24-36 hours of weekend cal...
