Safety Officer - Marikana
Position Type: Contractor Reporting to: Operations Manager Location: Marikana, North West
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement and monitor site-specific health and safety plans, procedures and safe work practices for construction and installation activities.
Ensure compliance with mine site rules, client requirements, contractor procedures and applicable South African health and safety legislation, including the Mine Health and Safety Act.
Conduct baseline, issue-based and continuous risk assessments for work activities such as lifting operations, working at height, hot work, confined spaces, electrical work, piping, mechanical installation and commissioning support.
Carry out daily site inspections, planned task observations and safety audits, and ensure corrective actions are tracked and closed out.
Facilitate toolbox talks, induction training, refresher training and safety awareness campaigns for employees and subcontractors. <...
